Before I purchased these, I had purchased a MUCH cheaper set where you’ve to switch the plates yourself. No large deal, I thought. I unpacked the 1st weight and quick learned that swapping the plates is more annoying and time-consuming than I’d thought. And the cheap handles were very uncomfortable. I unpacked the second weight and discovered that was defective. Back into the shop they went, and after cringing at cost tag online, I got these rather. I read reviews of some similar sets somewhere regardless the weights kind of clanked against each different while you were working out and the clanking was annoying, but that hasn’t been an problem with these either. The plates are coated in plastic, so even if they do rattle a small it’s quiet. I didn’t have the fancy tall stand, simply the normal plastic containers. I don’t miss that so far. Possibly I would if I were a Serious Athlete, just some normal gal attempting to obtain fit? Who knows. If I were a Serious Athlete I’d likely become out running within the cold now rather than sitting at my pc typing a product review.

I’ve owned these for a few months today, and it is good to get what amounts to a big weight set in a small room. Switching plates is simple. They’re very comfortable to utilize. I thought they may be too bulky, but that hasn’t been an problem. The weight dials got stuck when. A young friend of reinforce was goofing about along and when I tried them following 1 of them was stuck on 52.5 on both sides. I managed to obtain 1 unstuck by twisting / turning / pushing it, but not the different.

I emailed Bowflex. Novice inside week and I haven’t heard back, but it doesn’t matter because the overnight I tasked the aforementioned friend with helping me figure it out. He recommended LIFTING the weight, which somehow had not happened to me. Sure sufficient, a few minutes later, both sides were working again.

Granted how simple this was repair (when we’d figured out the trick), I’m very certain the reality they got stuck wasn’t a defect within the design or manufacture but rather an error in *ahem* how People placed them inside the tray when he was done playing. Ah well, he’s over used himself by helping that.

All in all, I’m happy I purchased them. My account still hasn’t very understood me, but I think I’ll become working out for a lot longer than I’ll become replenishing the cash I spent.

I used the Bowflex Dumbells 552 with my P90X exercise and I must say they developed life easier. It couldn’t be far better choose the proper weight with these things, and with limited time between excersizes, these were golden. The dumbbells itself is so sturdy; not once did I experience any uneasiness in utilizing this dumbbells. Even moves where the dumbbells were lifted fast and brought back didn’t cause any problems on the locking device of the dumbbells. The merely slight problem is the total length of the dumbbells.

Yes, that the width is manageable but the length could cause a few problems in possibly 5% of the excersizes conducted. An illustration of the is doing focus curls with both arms simultaneously. I ended up requiring to alternate to obtain around along the dumbbell. All in all it’s very simple to work around this small problem and it doesn’t impact the 5 star rating for me particularly because having used the block other also, the bowflex ones caused a lot less problems during excersize movements.

I used these without the stand, if you do also ensure you lift with your legs and not your back. If you’ve a bad back, and/or need to become secure, look to go on the stand. (Though theres nothing incorrect with a small extra leg work on the right form ) In summary, if your doing P90X, or any house exercise routine need you to switch weights fast, this is the dumbell for you. Also if your going for P90X understand the 552 version covered the weight I required for every excersize (I’m 5’11′ and 195 lean muscle).
